Grant Application Guidelines

POPSKIDS accepts grant applications to advance Conductive Education and/or programs designed to benefit children and young adults living with Cerebral Palsy and other motor disabilities.

Complete grant applications must come through a qualifying nonprofit (501-c), post-marked no later than May 1st to be eligible for consideration during any current calendar year.  Requests post-marked after May 1st will not be eligible for consideration until the following calendar year. Funds will be distributed each October 1st, following the close of POPS fiscal year on September 30th.

Grants are for a period of one year and are subject to review.  Evaluations will rely heavily on program/center efforts to obtain matching funds. Program/centers must also document their willingness to facilitate the grant application process on behalf of their clients in need of tuition assistance. All such requests must be included as part of the program’s comprehensive grant application and will not be considered independent of said comprehensive application.

Grant applications should include detailed information regarding the needs of your facility, your programs and individuals that participate in your programs. Documentation should include:

Organizational overview (mission statement, history, goals).

  • Population served and age groups.
  • Specific description and purpose of what grant will be used for.
  • Operational Budget.
  • Audited Financial Statements and Form 990 (most recent).
  • IRS 501 (c) (3) letter of determination.
  • List of Board of Directors and professional affiliations.
  • List of Foundations and or corporate supporters (names and amounts).

Additionally, program/centers will be expected to lend their cooperation in providing promotional materials such as pictures, videos, endorsements, parent testimonials, brochures and progress reports documenting the benefits of conductive education and/or programs designed to benefit children and young adults living with Cerebral Palsy and other motor disabilities. Said cooperation shall include facilitation by the program/center in obtaining parent/guardian authorization for the release of promotional materials.

All funding decisions are based on need, urgency and availability of funds depending entirely on the success of fund raising efforts and special events on behalf of the advancement of conductive education and/or program/centers designed to benefit children and young adults living with Cerebral Palsy and other motor disabilities. Upon acceptance of funds, recipients hereby expressly indemnify POPSKIDS.
